The Japanese don't traditionally eat bread in the same way that we on in the west, despite this the Global bread knife is an excellent performer. The hard Japanese steel creates an extremely sharp edge and the deep serrations mean that you will slice everything from bagels and baguettes to the largest cottage loaves with absolute ease. This knife could double up as a fantastic serrated carving knife for breaking through the crunchiest pork crackling. The back of the cutting edge on the non serrated side has a small chamfer; this improves cutting performance and allows that face of the knife to be gently sharpened on a whetstone should the knife ever become dull.
Global G Series
The G series from Global consists of their large cook's knives and specialist blades. There really is a knife for every purpose. Each G series knife has a symmetrical rounded handle suitable for left or right handed users. The handles are hollow and filled with sand which allows the most precise control of the poise and balance of the knife.
