A hob top kettle will last for years and add a rustic note to your kitchen. The Le Creuset traditional kettle is made of top quality enamelled steel which will give many years of fantastic service. The broad base made of strong, thin steel allows the maximum transfer of heat from the hob to the water for rapid boiling. The integral whistle lets you know when the water's boiling and can be swung out of the way at the flick of a finger for pouring. The large black handle provides great grip and keeps you hands well out of the way of any hot steam. You can fill the kettle through the wide spout or remove the lid which has plenty of space to make cleaning out limescale a breeze. This kettle is suitable for use on all hob types including induction cookers and Agas. It holds a generous 2.1 litres of water for large pots of afternoon tea.
Remove labels and all protective packaging before use.
For the Kone Kettle only, ensure kettle handle is locked into the upright position. Once in position do not try to unlock.
Wash kettle in hot water then fill with clean water and bring to the boil and discard this water.
Match kettle base to size of of ring/burner.
Never heat up an empty kettle.
Never fill beyond level marked on the outside of the kettle.
Dont tip kettle upside down when pouring as water may spill from the lid.
Dont leave kettle simmering for long periods on any heat source- it may boil dry which will damage the base enamel.
Dont bang kettle down onto hob or work surface. Repeated knocks may damage the enamel.
We recommend using an oven glove or cloth when opening the whistle as it may be hot.
Avoid leaving water in kettle when not in use, a build up of scale may occur and reduce efficiency.
A gentle de-scaler may be used periodically, if required.
Use on Aga/Rayburn stoves:
Do not leave kettle on simmering plate- always use fast plate.
If plate has been open, close to allow plate to recover heat before heating kettle.
