I've been shopping at Steamer Trading for the past 2 years and would recommend it to anyone. Whenever I walk in, I'm greeted with a smile and the store's laid out perfectly, with so many quality goods to choose from.

With some of the sunniest climes in England and proper sandy beaches, a visit to Bournemouth has always been a treat.

We found an irresistible spot for our new Steamer Trading shop when we opened in 2007. The Grade-II listed Gervis Hall, originally built as a private house, overlooks the Victorian Lower Gardens and is just a short stroll to the seafront.

From the Real Eating Company café on the first floor, some of the best views in the town can be enjoyed whilst sipping a great cup of coffee.

Once you’ve finished window shopping (we have a lot of them!), come inside our store (they’ll be a warm welcome) and enjoy taking your time choosing or just browsing – it’s all part of what makes a perfect day out in Bournemouth. Our friendly team are very knowledgeable too, and they’re always happy to help with anything you need to know.

The one to one customer interaction comes from us being a family-run business, and the teams are willing to expand their product knowledge to offer our customers a fantastic level of customer service. Our product knowledge is vast, and if we didn't know a particular answer, we'd go the extra mile to find it. Come for a visit and share a coffee and a chat with us in a shop full of your favourite things!

- Suzanne Smith, Bournemouth Store Manager

These are a few of my favourite things...

Joseph Joseph Cut & Carve Chopping Board - I love all the designs of Joseph Joseph. One of my favourites is the cut and carve board - what a fantastic idea! I have bought one and it is extremely useful. The board has a design where one side is for carving meat. It's spiked in the middle to hold your meat in place ready to carve, and also has a sloped edge where it can catch all the juices. You only have to turn the board over and it turns into a normal chopping board for all other food. It's very hard wearing and easy to keep clean. This board is an all rounder for everyday use.

Hot Mat Silicone - What a life saver! I have two square silicone mats next to my cooker. It not only protects my work surface, I can put any saucepan, roasting pan and baking pans on the silicone mat when I have released them from my cooker. They can go in the dishwasher and never lose their shape. They're also very useful when you can't open a jar - they're so flexible and have a great grip. Makes opening jam jars a doddle.

Mill Rest - Where would I be without my mill rest? No more dusty work surface or dining room table. A very neat and well thought-out product. My salt and pepper sit on my mill rest neatly side by side. There are also different designs to the mill rest. You can choose from wooden or silicone; the silicone comes in a variety of colours and can also be cleaned in the dishwasher. A perfect solution.
