The historic market town of Bishop's Stortford derives its name from the purchase, in 1060, of the manor of Stortford by William, Bishop of London. He paid the princely sum of £8 – these days, the price of a nice cup and saucer!
Whilst many will highlight that the town is well located by car or train for residents travelling into London for work, we think that it’s lucky for Londoners to have a Steamer Trading shop within easy commuting distance. And of course, it’s much less busy taking the trip out of town than heading into the morning rush hour.
Our lovely, bright and airy shop covers two floors right in the heart of the town. You’ll find a vast array of kitchen equipment, coffee machines, baking dishes, knives and cookware, tableware, glassware and designer ranges – and we even do wedding lists.
How to find us
