I love meeting new customers every day and helping them with their diverse culinary efforts and experiments! Hearing about what dishes are being created and advising them on the best equipment gives me a real sense of achievement.
Tucked away off the beaten track, our lovely Heathfield shop will be recognisable to many as the town’s former Victorian railway station. Closed by Lord Beeching in the 1960s, we re-opened the building as a wonderful cookshop.
Still clearly a station building inside, you’ll find bakeware and washing up brushes in the old kitchen, Emma Bridgewater’s china and LSA glass in the old Stationmaster’s sitting room, pots and pans in the waiting room and our counter where was once the ticket office.
We’ve got our own free parking right in front of the shop, a lovely warm working Rayburn for cold days and a small coffee shop with an idyllic garden for when it’s warm. We’re right at the end of the Cuckoo Trail – a 14-mile country track from Hampden Park – so why not visit us by bicycle? Just don’t forget the basket for all those Steamer Trading goodies!
Many customers tell us that our Heathfield store is their favourite – it is certainly unique and you’ll always receive the warmest of welcomes.
