Declared the capital of Wales in 1905, the city has a wealth of history and is known for its many popular attractions. The city hosts its very own sporting ground in the Principality Stadium, known as the heart and soul of Welsh rugby and is just a stone’s throw from our store. Only 100 yards from our door’s, you can find Cardiff Castle; a place to be transported into the captivating world of Welch history.
Did you know, the first ever one-million-pound cheque was written in Cardiff in 1904? Whilst this was not in our Kitchens Cookshop, it was just a short walk, being exchanged at the Coal Exchange by the Cardiff Dock.
Our wonderful store boasts a wealth of history, once home to ‘Dorothy’s Café’ in the early 1900’s, it has also posed as a debtor’s jail 100 years before and is known to have the original fireplaces and oak panelling behind the scenes in our stockroom. With two floors and over 8,000sqft, we have the space to accommodate the very best of cookware, catering for your every need. From basic utensils to specialist items, we have aisles of cast iron, stainless steel and porcelain, so we can suit your every need and requirement in our Aladdin’s Cave of kitchenware jewels.
In between these 2 floors, you’ll be greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable staff, who between them have a combined service of over 80 years!
In 2016, Kitchens Cookshop joined the Steamer Trading Cookshop family along with our other two stores, however you’ll still only find us, in our Kitchens stores wearing our green aprons and we will remain the hub of all your kitchen needs.
How to find us: Head down from the castle and you will find Kitchens Cookshop on the left hand side, it is a pedestrianised precinct. From the other direction, walk up St Mary’s Street heading towards the castle and you’ll find the store on the right.
